Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; eating right in the morning sets the tone for the rest of your day! However, sometimes you run out of new breakfast ideas and it starts to get boring. Almost like a routine. You grab your bagel and go OR you make your eggs the same way you have been eating them since you were five years old. It is always a good idea to switch up your regular routine sometimes. Try making a smoothie bowl!

Smoothie bowls are an easy way to get your proper nutrients and also have fun with your breakfast! There are so many recipes online for smoothie bowls and they are all quite delicious. Some require more ingredients than others. I have one recipe that is my quick, on the go recipe when I do not have time for creativity and not as many ingredients as I could have.

For this recipe, all you need is…

Almond milk (you can easy other types of milk if you prefer, I just just love almond milk and it is super healthy!)

Cereal or Granola (you can use your favourite – I use Heritage Flake)

Hemp Seeds

Acai Berry Blended Packages

Frozen Fruits (you can use any you would like – I use mango + mixed berries)

Of course, A BLENDER – I use Nutribullet.

How to Make this AWESOME Smoothie Bowl…

You can basically pick any ingredients you would normally like in your smoothies to make this. I just really recommend açai in these bowls – it is a super fruit and is packed with so many nutrients. You can read more about the benefits of açai berries by clicking here.

smoothie bowlI take the almond milk, açai berry pack, frozen fruits and blend them all together in the Nutribullet. Make sure the consistency remains thick since it is a bowl, rather than a smoothie. You want it thick enough to pick up with a spoon, rather than drink from a cup.

After I blend everything together, I simply just place it all in a bowl. The toppings after this step are ALL up to you! I switch it up regularly. This morning I did not have many of my usual toppings so I just put my Heritage Flakes cereal and hemp seeds on top for added protein. I recommend adding sliced bananas on top or fresh berries of your choice just to add more flavour.

There you have it!!!

Super easy to make and just adds some fun to your mornings!!! I recommend switching up your breakfast recipes just so you do not get bored of the MOST important meal of the day!!!
